Using an espresso machine to brew this amazing Ugandan single-origin coffee is perfect for accentuating its exquisite tasting notes of dark chocolate, cherries, and nuts. About the producer

This community-processed natural coffee is a testament to the dedication of over 500 farmers in the lush Rwenzori Mountains. Each farmer, with plots ranging from one to three acres, carefully selects and sorts their cherries before selling directly to the washing station. Natural processing, a tradition deeply rooted in the Rwenzori region, is evident as you see farmers drying their harvests on tarpaulins outside their homes.

For many families, coffee is the primary source of income. Despite efforts to encourage selling coffee as cherries, the demand for traditionally natural-processed coffee remains strong. This method, honed over generations, produces unique flavours from the "Mountains of the Moon." Once processed, Agri Evolve sorts the coffee by location and date, ensuring top quality in every lot.

How is Rwenzori / Uganda processed?

Naturally processed coffee, also known as dry-processed coffee, is a traditional method where whole coffee cherries are sun-dried before hulling. This method involves spreading the cherries out on raised beds or patios to dry under the sun, turning them regularly to ensure even drying and prevent mould. Once dried, the cherries are hulled to remove the fruit and parchment, revealing the green coffee beans inside.
